Danish Tour-debutant Andreas Kron will stay two years longer at the Belgian WorldTour team Lotto Soudal, that will be named Lotto Dstny from 2023 on. The team is very happy with the development of the talented puncheur - who came in fourth in the eight stage of the Tour de France - over the past two years, while Andreas Kron himself is very confident about the direction the team is going.

We cannot be prouder on the development of Andreas Kron over the past two years”, says Lotto Soudal CEO John Lelangue. “We gave him the opportunity to step up to the WorldTour and from the beginning he has shown all the values we cherish in a rider: an attacking spirit and bravery on the bike, while being a very approachable and friendly guy next to it. In his first year he immediately won two WorldTour races: stages in Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and the Tour de Suisse. Right now he is showing he can compete with the best of the world in the Tour de France. We are confident that he will continue to develop himself and are happy that he will do so in our team.”

Andreas Kron is looking forward to his future at Lotto Soudal and Lotto Dstny. “I definitely want to stay on this journey with the team”, Andreas Kron said. “We have had our ups and downs for sure, but we have got to know each other very well over the past years. I am ready to rumble together with the team for another two years and confident that we can achieve great results together. On top of that, it feels like coming to my family every time I go for a race: I feel very much at home here.”

The Danish 24-year-old is ambitious for the next years. “The direction the team is going is perfect for me. We have a lot of young and talented guys and a new sponsor coming in that wants to make an impact. I am confident that the future looks very bright for me and the team.”
